Important Information & Disclaimer
1. Results Can’t Be Guaranteed
As with other therapy services offered, no warranty or guarantee is made, either explicit or implied. Counselling and psychotherapy are subjective processes, and outcomes vary between individuals and couples. As with other therapy services offered, no warranty or guarantee is made explicit or implied. As with any psychotherapy, unpleasant emotions, discomfort, distress, and other reactions/responses may occur.
2. The Assessment Phase Does Not Guarantee Continuation Into Ongoing Therapy
The initial assessment phase (typically the first few sessions) evaluates whether couples therapy is appropriate and beneficial. Participation in this phase does not guarantee progression into ongoing therapy.
If therapy is deemed unsuitable, this will be communicated during the feedback session, along with alternative suggestions or a plan for moving forward.
3. Therapist Discretion to Discontinue Therapy
The therapist reserves the right to discontinue therapy at any time if necessary. This is exceptionally rare and typically occurs only in extreme circumstances, such as abusive behavior directed toward the therapist or safety concerns.
4. Counselling Process
Counselling can be a meaningful and transformative process, but progress varies by individual and couple. While every effort is made to support positive outcomes, session results are subjective.
5. No Refunds Based on Perceived Value
Session fees are non-refundable, including in cases where a client feels a session did not meet their expectations. Clients are encouraged to raise concerns during or after sessions to ensure the therapy process remains clear and productive.
6. Cancellations & Rescheduling
All cancellations and reschedules require at least 48 hours’ notice.
No shows / Non-attendance: Full fee applies.
Cancellations/reschedules within 48 hours: 50% of the total fee is charged.
Cancellations/reschedules within 24 hours: Full fee is charged.
Single-party attendance: Couples therapy requires both partners to attend. If only one partner attends, it will be treated as a “no show,” and the full fee will apply.
All appointments are prepaid. If a partial fee applies (e.g., cancellations within 48 hours), a credit for the remaining amount (after deducting the applicable fee) will be issued and can be used to rebook the rescheduled appointment.
7. Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential. Information shared will not be disclosed without written consent, except where required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others, or child protection obligations).
